Doubled my income with 1/3 of effort and zero stress
These are the results of my new product launch compared to my job in consulting.
Last week, I hit a significant milestone:
20 clients have enrolled in my coaching program since its launch three months ago.
It helped me to prove a strong product-market fit. First of all, prove to myself.
This might seem small, but it's quite significant for such a niche segment.
I help first-year, lateral-hire MBB consultants achieve high performance.
If this is relevant to you, Book a 1-1 Discovery Session to learn more.
Now, in the spirit of building in public, let me share a few facts:
- 9 consultants are from McKinsey, 7 BCG, 1 Bain, and 3 strategy boutiques.
I primarily focus on MBB firms. It’s not that I am arrogant, but I just use my previous experience. Sometimes, I make exceptions for talented and driven consultants from other strategy firms. This will depend on our mutual fit.
- 8 consultants are from the US, 4 Europe, 4 Asia, 2 Middle East, 1 Africa, and 1 LATAM.
I'm especially proud of the product's global reach. As a person from Kazakhstan, a country many people don’t know about, developing a global product was a long-standing dream of mine.
- 13 consultants are Associates (lateral hires), 5 are BAs/SBAs, and 2 are EMs/PLs.
Although my main focus is on lateral hires (Associates in McKinsey, Consultants in BCG/Bain), sometimes I make exceptions for talented and driven people.
- 4 consultants avoided imminent negative ratings and kept their jobs, a big win in such a tough economic environment.
- 3 consultants have already achieved high performance.
Now, they are in high demand and can enjoy working on exciting projects.
All other members successfully realized quick wins and stabilized their cases.
You know,
I’ve found my true IKIGAI.
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means an activity that gives you a true sense of purpose.
It’s created at the intersection of four elements: what the world needs (your mission), what you’re good at (your vocation), what you love (your passion), and what you can get paid for (your profession).
I couldn’t understand this concept for a long time until the stars aligned and I could find my purpose.
Here are my four IKIGAI elements:
1. What the world needs (mission) - first-year MBB consultants face serious challenges and stress adjusting to a new profession with no effective solutions;
2. What you are good at (vocation) - in my nine years in consulting, I coached dozens of consultants to become successful with my unique approach;
3. What you love (passion) - it’s fulfilling to help people radically improve their careers and lives;
4. What you can get paid for (profession) - MBB consultants are smart and pragmatic. They know they must invest in themselves to become successful.
I have a vision.
My vision is to help 1,000 consultants transform from struggling to high-performing, achieving their full potential in career and life.
And if I can be someone who has helped so many people change their careers and lives, that’s a big enough vision for me to dedicate my time and work to achieving that.
That is why, I do two main things:
- I write this newsletter sharing stories, best practices, and unspoken rules, and it now has over 800 subscribers.
- I run the Hero’s Journey coaching program for MBB consultants, offering practical, journey-based learning, coaching, and mentorship to help them achieve high performance.
If you are an MBB consultant and want to achieve high performance, please Book a 1-1 Discovery Session to learn more.
