Slide-making is a difficult skill to master. It takes months, if not years, to get really good at it. It's more of a problem-solving than a design skill. Learn one neat trick to become much better.
Thank you Mourad for your comment! Interesting enough that different offices had different McKinsey pads. For example, I worked with blue ones, I liked them better. I also have seen light green ones, and of course yellows.
Totally agree that pen and paper is the way to go - it removes all the distractions and really forces you to think about what the key message of the slide is, and the most optimal way of presenting it. Building it in PowerPoint is just executing on that prior thinking
